Boots and Promises is a short story that falls in between books 2 and 3 of the Ugly Stick Saloon series. Although, I haven't read any of the others in this series I enjoyed the story.Ella is trying to make her way in NYC as a performer and Jesse is the cowboy who followed her their from Texas. Ella decides NY is not the place for Jesse and despite how much she loves him she's going to push him back to Texas where she thinks he belongs. In the end all is well and they both have a place in NYC that suits them.I'll admit, I'm not really familiar with this series but I will probably pick up the rest of them... well because I just can't help myself when it comes to hot cowboys who go after what they want.
